People do meditation to achieve a variety of goals, including relaxation, increased mindfulness, stress relief, improved concentration, better health, and spiritual growth. People may also use meditation to help connect to and understand their inner selves. Meditation can be used to relax the body and mind, reduce anxiety and stress, improve focus and concentration, increase self–awareness and acceptance, and foster feelings of peace, calm, and contentment. Meditating can help people ground themselves, build resilience, and gain clarity on various issues in their lives.
