1. Find a comfortable place to sit. Sitting on the floor with your legs crossed is a traditional way to meditate in India, but you can also sit on a chair or cushion if you prefer.
2. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Focus on your breath and try to clear your mind of any thoughts or worries.
3. Set a mantra or affirmation. This can be a phrase, word, or sound that you repeat silently to yourself as you meditate.
4. Visualize or imagine yourself in a peaceful place. This can be a location from your past or something you’ve imagined.
5. Focus on your body. Scan your body from head to toe, paying attention to any areas of tension or discomfort. Try to relax these areas and focus on your breath.
6. Stay in the moment. When thoughts or worries arise, acknowledge them without judgment and then let them go.
7. End your meditation with a few deep breaths. When you are ready, slowly open your eyes and take a few moments to feel the effects of your meditation before slowly getting up.
